A mixed side from Llanishen 1s and 2s finished the season with a game against Old Plymothian and Mannamedian, on tour from Plymouth. The tourists wanted a social fixture and so both sides limited kicking and all conversions were dropped kicked, most missed! The final scoreline was 54 - 29, but that wasn't important as both sides enjoyed the game, as did all who were watching. Mention has to be made of match referee Gruff Thomas, who entered into the spirit of the game while still enforcing the laws of the game, he has only recently taken up officiating and looks to have a bright future as the man in the middle. Llanishen did the double over the visitors by winning the after match boat race, and OPM then entertained (?) the clubhouse with two songs, Delilah by the experienced tourists and World in Union by the tour virgins (first time tourists), so both teams had an excellent time on and off the pitch. OPM proved to be great tourists and hopefully the two sides will meet again in the future. Good luck next season lads.
