Youth Team Stays Unbeaten (Just).

Llanishen youth played local rivals Llandaff in a memorial match for junior player Ollie Nightingale. The visitors scored an early converted try and dominated the first twenty five minutes, with the home team seeming unusually lethargic and committing numerous handling errors, although Tom Fitzpatrick and Luke Cousins put in some excellent defensive work. However late in the half they got back in the game when wing Joe Jackson beat a couple of defenders to score, outside half Tommy Scourfield converting. Llanishen then suffered  a blow when strong running centre Matt Dyke suffered a knock to the head and had to be taken to hospital. The visitors regained the lead when a mix up in defence allowed a Llandaff centre to cross unopposed, Llanishen again equalised when centre Josh Kemble set up Luke Hobbs for their second try, Euan Phillips levelling the scores with the conversion. The visitors again took the lead and despite late pressure from Llanishen it looked like they were going to hold on for the win, but with the last play of the game replacement scrum half Will Watkins took a quick tap penalty and fed Charlie Williams up for a try which Phillips converted to give Llanishen a draw.
