Fightback earns 2s a draw.

Clwb Rygbi Caerdydd away is always a tough fixture, the home side having a reputation for playing fast attractive rugby. They dominated the early part of the game and opened the scoring early on with a converted try, Llanishen were struggling to contain them but managed to draw level when Keiron MaGuire intrecepted a long pass in his own 22 and sprinted clear to score a try which he converted. CRC bounced back and got two more converted tries, Llanishen were not in the game at this stage, poor tackling and handling not helping their efforts, however against the run of play Tom Barr got their second try on the stroke of half time, to pull them back to within nine points. The home side got a fourth converted try just after the restart and at this stage it looked like Llanishen were going to be well beaten, but these days the squad is full of resilience and they started to gain dominance, the handling and kicking out of hand were much better and strong running from both forwards and backs put CRC on the backfoot. Carl Tyres got their third try, shortly before leaving the field injured and then Josh James got another to gain a bonus point. It was now the visitors who were applying all the pressure forcing the home side to give away penalties, MaGuire kicking two to bring the scores level. That was the end of the scoring although Llanishen had a couple of chances to get the win, something that looked highly unlikely earlier in the game, but the ball was spilled as the forwards drove towards the line and then MaGuire was just wide with another penalty kick. A 28 - 28 draw meant both sides got three points, just rewards as both contributed to what was a highly entertaining game.
