Narrow win extends 2s unbeaten run.

Clwb Rygbi Caerdydd were the opponents for the 2s latest league fixture, played at Llanishen Park. The visitors are known for their running rugby and playing this way they dominated the opening quarter and opened the scoring with a try in the corner. Llanishen then got back into the game and took the lead when scrum half Nima Aghaee powered his way over, Keiron Maguire converting. Both sides had periods of posession in the rest of the half without ever looking like scoring. The opening period of the second half followed the same pattern until from a drive following a line-out hooker Adam Champ scored, there then followed a rarity when MaGuire missed the conversion, as he has been in fine kicking form this season. CRC got a second try with the conversion levelling the score, then the home side restored their lead with a Jack Marshall try converted by Maguire. CRC got a third try and then took the lead with a penalty. Llanishen pressed hard in the final minutes and nearly scored again but Josh Burns was bundled into touch just short of the try line. CRC won the line-out and cleared into touch, and it looked like they had secured victory. However, as he had done all through the game, George Ivins won clean possession at the line-out, Llanishen went through the phases and the visitors were penalised at a ruck. MaGuire stepped up to nail the penalty and secured the win for his side, final score Llanishen 2s 22 CRC 2s 20. Both sides played their part in an exciting game, which showed how good rugby can be at this level.
