Hard fought win for 2s.

The 2s welcomed Barry 2s for a re-arranged league fixture, and it was good to se the visitors being able to field a second side again. The opening score came when, with Llanishen attacking the Barry wing intercepted a pass in his own 22 to run the length of the pitch to cross under the posts, the conversion was added to open a seven point lead. Barry then dominated the opening quarter, using their big pack to good effect, but determined defence prevented them adding to their earlier score. The home side then started applying some pressure with strong running center Nathen Llewellyn making good ground, and then from a five metre scrum number 8 and captain Paul Dolan broke through a couple of tackles to get Llanishen's first try, Keiron Maguire converted and shortly after added a penalty, half time Llanishen 2s 10 Barry 2s 7. Early in the second half prop Ifan Jones was tackled just short of the line but wing Elian Owen was in support to score a try, Maguire adding the extras. For the next twenty minutes most of the play was between the two 22s, but as the visitors started to tire the home side added three late tries from wing James Chapman (2) and replacement scrum half Carl Tyres, to give a final score of Llanishen 2s 32 Barry 2s 7. Although the home side acheived a bonus point win, the final score wasn't a reflection of the game and was probably a bit unfair on Barry.
